Claire Arbour, MSW

It gives me great pleasure to introduce Claire Arbour, MSW.  Claire works for me as an Associate Social Worker (ASW# 22713).  In this capacity she sees her own individual clients and couples in counseling under my supervision.

As an Associate Social Worker, Claire is collecting hours she needs in order to become licensed.  This is a State of California requirement for all MSW degree Social Workers who wish to practice independently.

Background about Claire Arbour, MSW: 

Claire has the MSW graduate degree from Smith College School for Social Work, which she obtained in 2007. She has much valuable work experience.  Most recently, she has served from 2006-2008 as an intern therapist at the Outpatient Clinic of the San Francisco Psychotherapy Research Group located in the Presidio.  I came to know the quality of her work as her supervisor during this time.  Additionally, she has over 2 years experience working therapeutically with troubled adolescents and their families in both community and residential settings.

Claire has a particular interest in helping people who are capable of functioning well but who suffer from depression or loss, who engage in self-defeating patterns, and who may be negotiating major identity, lifestyle, or stage of life transitions.  Claire is invested in providing compassionate support for her client's concerns including relationship, job, or family issues.
